Get to know the songwriter you'll be working with!
Eddie Scott is a songwriter and musician from Sunderland, in the North East of England, despite his age, Eddie has amassed a wealth of experience within the music industry, being trusted with high profile national projects and performing with globally touring artists for several years already. He is currently working with the prestigious Ivors Academy after being selected as one of only 25 UK songwriters to be a part of their debut mentorship scheme.
Eddie’s songs have been performed for The Royal Family, played on national TV and BBC radio, and in 2021 his band PICNIC, who also performed with Eurythmics legend Dave Stewart, will be opening for disco heroes CHIC, upon their visit to the UK.
After graduating with a full BA Hons in Music from Sunderland University, Eddie pursued a career as a freelance songwriter/musician and has since worked on some large scale commissioned projects. After composing and producing all of the original music for touring educational dance show, ‘Numberbods’, Eddie was commissioned to create a songwriting resource for primary schools, in association with director Esther Johnson and her WWI docufilm, “Asunder”.
Writing with up and coming artists is Eddie’s real passion, and he has already garnered a reputation within the North East music scene as someone who is really exciting to work with. Artists that Eddie has worked with have gone on to achieve airplay on BBC Radio One, be playlisted on BBC Radio 6, amass thousands of Spotify streams and achieve coverage on national TV. Working with TeenStar 2019 winner, Teah, ignited a fire to help similar young artists who possibly didn’t have a lot of songwriting experience, hence “Write Your Song” was born!
